An exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join one of Sydney’s top infrastructure contractors!

This amazing company is renowned for its exceptional work in utilities and civil infrastructure construction across Sydney. As the Senior Project Manager, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring project success by overseeing and managing various aspects of the construction process. This will involve conducting regular workplace inspections to ensure compliance with HSE regulations, preparing cost-effective construction methodologies, coordinating site activities, monitoring workmanship, and mentoring the engineering team. With your innovative mindset and excellent influencing skills, you’ll help drive the team towards achieving exceptional results and delivering top-quality projects that make a difference in the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular workplace inspections to ensure compliance with HSE requirements, including legislation and client specifications.
• Prepare time and cost-effective construction methodologies for open cut trenching, HDD bores, thrust bores, cable pulling, and other project components.
• Collaborate with the Site Supervisor in organizing labor and equipment through daily progress meetings.
• Monitor the coordination of site activities by the Site Supervisor and ensure adherence to the construction program.
• Assist the Project Manager in preparing weekly and monthly project cost reports as needed.
• Understand and monitor the project(s) scope to identify and address any variations that may arise.
• Mentor and manage the workload of Project Engineers and Site Engineers.
• Ensure all construction works comply with plans and specifications while monitoring the standard of workmanship on site.
• Lead the engineering team in implementing the quality plan for the project and submitting quality documents meeting the requirements for lots and TfNSW specifications.
• Exhibit strong influencing skills, innovation, and resilience in the role and work collaboratively with an existing dynamic team partnering with Sydney Water and local communities.

Experience

• 5 + years in Senior Project Manager role
• Utilities experience in Electrical, water, wastewater services
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
• Experience in managing budgets, schedules, and resources.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with relevant regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.
• Experience in risk management and mitigation.
• A track record of successful project delivery and stakeholder management.

Qualifications / Licenses

• Degree level qualification in Civil Engineering
• Highly Desirable, Certified in- Project management, construction management, or business administration.
